Alistair Burns

Alistair is an accredited police station representative who has a caseload of criminal defence and civil cases. Before joining Hollingsworth Edwards in 2018, Alistair obtained distinction in the GDL and LLM and worked as a volunteer for an innocence project, assisting prisoners who had been convicted of serious offences and preparing grounds for appeal. Since then, he has dealt with a wide variety of criminal cases, including violent offences from common assault to attempted murder.

Notable cases include R v S, in which the prosecution decided not to proceed against the client, who was facing a charge of affray, after Alistair made non-defendant bad character applications against the complainants.
